At Awaken Behavioral Services, our mission is to provide high-quality ABA Therapy using a client and family focused approach. Our goal is to provide a fun, stimulating, and engaging learning environment to teach our learners fundamental skills to help them succeed. We passionately believe that each individual has the right to be treated with respect and a right to high-quality services in an environment that is best suited to him or her.
ABA Therapy is an umbrella term that covers many styles of teaching/treatment, such as Verbal Behavior (VB), Natural Environment Teaching (NET), and Discrete Trial Training (DTT). ABA professionals mainly work in the areas of behavior reduction or skill acquisition. ABA Therapy incorporates behavioral techniques such as reinforcement, prompting, consistent consequences, and extinction. Strengths are generalized and expanded upon, and deficits are replaced with skills in order to help the individual be more successful in their environment.
WHAT IS ABA THERAPY?
Most ABA treatment programs involve a tiered service-delivery model in which the Behavior Analyst designs and supervises a treatment program delivered by Registered Behavior Technicians (RBT). All RBT's successfully complete a criminal background check, complete a 40-hour training program based on the RBT Task List, and pass the RBT Competency Assessment administered by a BCBA. All RBT's receive ongoing supervision by a BCBA and abide by a subset of the Behavior Analyst Certification Board's Professional and Ethical Compliance Code.
WHO PROVIDES ABA THERAPY?
The Modified Checklist for Autism in Toddlers, Revised (M-CHAT-R) is a screener that will ask a series of 20 questions about your child’s behavior. It's intended for toddlers between 16 and 30 months of age. You can use the results of the screener to discuss any concerns that you may have with your child’s healthcare provider.
